House Cleaning Pro Tip: A Little Cleaning Here and There Adds UP to A Lot of Happy!

Daily House Cleaning Tips
Easy Tips for Daily Cleaning to Keep Your Space Clean and Your Family Happy!

Did you know that keeping your house clean has physical and mental health benefits?

Maintaining a clean house avoids spreading germs, pathogens, and viruses that can make you sick or cause disease. You can also reduce allergy and asthma symptoms by making sure dust, pet hair/dander, and molds aren’t allowed to accumulate. It may seem to be an oxymoron, but studies have confirmed that cleaning also reduces stress and fatigue.

Just removing clutter and keeping your environment clean can help improve your self-esteem by creating a more positive self-image and sense of self-worth. Remembering and practicing “A place for everything, and everything in its place” can help you stay organized and reduce the clutter that makes your home feel messy.

A few simple adjustments in your daily routine can help you accomplish the goal of keeping your house clean and tidy, making it a home you can enjoy.

Keeping Your House Clean - Daily Schedule – 8 Simple Things

  • Clean up any messes when they happen. (Just wipe up the spilled milk instead of crying over it!)

  • Make your bed when you get up.

  • Wash dishes or put in the dishwasher as soon as you finish the meal.

    • Wipe table, counters, stove, inside of microwave, and sink as part of this routine

    • For sinks, you can use a slice of lemon to clean the sink, handles, and drain and leave a fresh scent at the same time.

  • Clean coffee maker, tea pot.

  • Rinse tub or shower after use. If you use a squeegee right after you shower, it’s easy to keep the walls clean.

  • Your kitchen sink is likely to have more harmful bacteria than your toilet seat, so clean it frequently.

  • Wipe sink and bathroom counter (You get bonus points for doing mirrors too!)

  • Wipe clean, sanitize, or disinfect frequently-used surfaces like door handles, light switches, remote controls, cellphones, hand rails, faucets, appliance handles + control pads, toilets.

    • Cleaning removes germs, dirt, and other impurities

    • Sanitizing lowers the number of germs to a safe level on surfaces or objects, either by removing or killing them

    • Disinfecting kills germs on surfaces or objects, usually with chemicals

  • Put dirty clothes in the laundry basket or hamper when you take them off.

House Cleaning as needed, every couple of days…

  • Sweep or vacuum floors.

  • Do laundry when you have enough for a load.

  • Empty trash cans and replace liner.

By just doing a little here and there, the suggestions above can help you make your home clean and comfortable, the haven where you long to be! Housekeeping will be easier! You won’t feel overwhelmed by everything that “needs to be done” or have to spend all of your day off cleaning!

Just think about how much stress would be relieved knowing that if someone calls and wants to drop by, you’re ready without having to rush through the house to make it “presentable”. On top of all that, you and your family will be healthier, happier, more relaxed.
